❗ A Word of Warning
- Be aware of dust and other flying debris.
- Ensure you have all the required safety gear: Safety Goggles (g) are essential and ideally also a dust mask, gloves and heavy duty trousers.
- Always hold the tool by the non-metal insulated gripping surfaces only - especially if there is any risk of cutting through live wires

❗ Kickback
- Only bring the Reciprocating Saw into contact with the workpiece when it is switched on and running. Otherwise there is a danger of the tool jamming and being forced out of your safe grip
- Then carefully ensure the Base Plate (d) pressed against the surface of the workpiece to help keep the saw safely in position as it runs.

Get Started
- Prepare your workpiece. Use the G clamps (h) provided to secure the workpiece you are cutting to a stable platform like a workbench or sturdy table (if it will not be secured by its own weight.) Check that you are in a comfortable potion to hold the tool and easily make the cut where you want in the workpiece.
- Attach the required Blade to the Reciprocating Saw. Position the Blade with the teeth facing towards the front of the tool in the cutting direction. Then push the Blade in until it clicks into place as the SDS Lever (b) swings back to the side. Check that the Blade is not loose and is fitted securely. To release a Blade just turn the SDS Lever (b) forward and the Blade will drop out.

- Connect the Battery (i). Just slide it in under the back of the Reciprocating Saw.
- Set the Stroke Speed Selector (c). Before turning the tool on you need to select the stroke speed you require with the switch on the top of the tool.
<aside>
ℹ️ Stroke Speed Options
- Centre - Locked - The Saw will be locked from turning on
- Left - First Gear - Low Stroke Rate - Good for harder materials and finer cuts
- Right - Second Gear - High Stroke Rate - Good for softer materials and rougher cut
</aside>
- Turn the Reciprocating Saw on. Do this before bringing the Saw in contact with the workpiece to reduce kickback! But now with the Stoke Speed Selector (c) in either first or second gear depress the Variable Speed Trigger (e) to start up the tool. The tool will run until you release the Variable Speed Trigger (e).
- Refining the Stroke Rate. Depressing the Variable Speed Trigger (e) by different amounts will change the stroke rate.
<aside>
ℹ️
Variable Speed Trigger (e)
- Light Pressure - Lower Stroke Rate
- High Pressure - Higher Stroke Rate
The best stroke rate to use is dependent upon the material and conditions but generally speaking a lower stroke rate is recommended for sawing plastic and aluminium.
</aside>
- Make your cut. Now the Saw is running carefully bring it into contact with your work piece so that the Base Plate (d) is held firmly against it’s surface to keep the Saw in a safe position and to reduce vibration.
